Even if you’re not actively looking for a new home, Open House events are great to attend! You have the opportunity to get a feel for what’s out there, check out a new neighborhood, get ideas for your current home, and dream about a future purchase. Open House events are low pressure opportunities to shop for homes even if you’re just window shopping. There are always people who pop in because they’re curious about what a home looks like inside, and this is a great opportunity for that!
One of the best pieces of advice I was given regarding viewing art applies to visiting an open house – know the lingo! There are things you can ask to show that this Open House isn’t your first rodeo.
Sample questions to ask at an Open House:
Is there an offer deadline for this home?
When have updates been made?
Are appliances included?
What features should I be sure to check out?
